The Data Domain Governance Principal will be a member of the Enterprise Data Governance team in DMI, responsible for driving strategic initiatives to improve cross-data domain processes and reporting, and for overseeing execution of existing cross-domain activities.
The role will report to the Data Domain Governance Team Lead and partner closely with Data Domain, Business Data Leaders and Data Management Solutions teams in DMI to develop, socialize and implement new approaches to ensure consistent compliance to the Data Management Policy across the company's 7 data domains.
The role will also partner closely with Enterprise Data Governance, Data Governance Operations, Enterprise Testing and Audit organizations outside DMI to respond to requests, provide updates on our progress and represent our current procedures and internal controls.

In this role, you will:
- Lead strategic initiatives across EDG and DMI to support the development and maintenance of the Data Management procedure adoption roadmap for compliance across the new strategic Data Domains, (e.g., projects tied to domain compliance planning platforms, domain council standardization and reporting, data governance role training enhancements, etc.)
- Serve as primary communications between new domains to assist in the development of tactical approaches and execution processes for required policy compliance evidence and to respond to communications between domains and other areas of EDG
- Oversee existing cross-domain processes (e.g., application to data domain alignment, new application compliance, prioritized processes & reports framework, etc.), including providing direction to internal and offshore resources
- Build strong partnerships with Domain business teams, internal DMI teams, Risk, and Audit partners and respond timely to Audit, Compliance or Information Risk Management requests
- Maintain high quality and detailed internal procedures and job aids for key cross-domain processes
- Manage / support Leadership communication routines and forums with Data Domain key partners and DMI strategic and operational teams
- 10+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis
- 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: conduct risk, compliance, operational risk management, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk
- 6+ years of business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination thereof
- 5+ years of relationship management experience with business and technology partners
- 5+ years of process improvement experience
- Knowledge and understanding of data integrity management practices and procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to strategize and execute a variety of large-scale programs, services and initiatives that are significant in scope, complexity and risk, working collaboratively across multiple business groups.
- Working knowledge of key financial data subject areas, including any combination of the following: Deposits, Payments and Treasury Management; Commercial or Retail Lending; Traded / Capital Markets Products; Advisory Products; Market, Credit, Counterparty, Fiduciary, Operational Risk; Financial Management or Reporting; Master Reference Data, Human Resources Data
- Customer service focus with the ability to listen to customer needs and recommend solutions
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
